چکیده
Background/Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the cancer detection rate (CDR) using magnetic resonance imaging-transrectal ultrasound (MRI-TRUS) fusion-guided transperineal targeted biopsy (TB). Patients and Methods: We included 401 consecutive patients, which 161 were biopsy-naïve. All underwent prebiopsy bi-parametric MRI; patients with positive MRI [prostate imaging reporting data system (PI-RADS≥3)] TB. Biopsy-naïve TB systematic biopsies (SBs). MRI-negative SBs. Clinically significant prostate (csPCa) defined as ISUP ≥2. added value SB an upgrade from a negative or 1 in csPCa SB. Results: median (interquartile range) age 69 (range=63-74) years, PSA 6.9 (range=4.5-11) ng/ml. overall CDR 65%, occurring 48%. In cases PI-RADS 5, 91%, 77%. 2%. Conclusion: Transperineal MRI-TRUS fusion yield high CDR.

Multiparametric MRI-Targeted TRUS Prostate Biopsies Using Visual Registration
Prebiopsy multiparametric prostate MRI (mp-MRI), followed by transrectal ultrasound-guided (TRUS-G) target biopsies (TB) of the prostate is a key combination for the diagnosis of clinically significant prostate cancers (CSPCa), to avoid prostate cancer (PCa) overtreatment. Several techniques are available for guiding TB to the suspicious mp-MRI targets, but the simplest, cheapest, and easiest t...
متن کاملHigh cancer detection rate using cognitive fusion - targeted transperineal prostate biopsies
OBJECTIVE MRI of the prostate improves diagnostic accuracy of prostate cancer. Different fusion approaches with transrectal ultrasound images are employed. To determine detection rate of prostate cancer in men undergoing transperineal MRIbased cognitive fusion biopsy. MATERIALS AND METHODS One hundred and sixty-four consecutive men underwent a multiple-core prostate transperineal biopsy. Univ...

Objective. In this study, we compared prostate cancer detection rates between MRI-TRUS fusion targeted and systematic biopsies using a robot-guided, software based transperineal approach. Methods and Patients. 52 patients received a MRIT/TRUS fusion followed by a systematic volume adapted biopsy using the same robot-guided transperineal approach. The primary outcome was the detection rate of cl...
متن کاملMRI-guided biopsy of the prostate: correlation between the cancer detection rate and the number of previous negative TRUS biopsies.
PURPOSE We aimed to investigate prostate cancer detection rate of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided biopsy and to elucidate possible relations to the number of prior negative transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS)-guided biopsies. MATERIALS AND METHODS Eighty-seven consecutive patients (mean age, 65.0 years; mean prostate-specific antigen, 13.3 ng/mL) with at least one prior negative TRUS-g...

PURPOSE We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-directed cognitive fusion transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS)-guided anterior prostate biopsy for diagnosis of anterior prostate tumors and to illustrate this technique. METHODS A total of 39 patients with previous negative TRUS biopsy, but high clinical suspicion of occult prostate cancer, prospectively underwent pr...
